What Is It?
Inspired by the innovation practices of technology leaders such as Samsung’s Think Tank team, this project challenged us to envision a forward-thinking product concept that leverages emerging technologies to redefine communication. Guided by design methodologies and the “Long Nose of Innovation” theory, we explored how spatial computing and conversational agents could co-create value in ways that feel both futuristic and feasible. The resulting concept was presented to a panel of industry judges.
WINDOW is a telecommunications device that transforms remote conversations into lifelike interactions. It maps users and their environments in three dimensions, creating an experience that feels as natural as speaking through a sheet of glass. By preserving depth, parallax, and presence, and integrating conversational AI with AR/MR technologies, WINDOW enhances the sense of connection in every call.

My Impacts
Through research, critique, and multiple iterations, we developed WINDOW as a “concept car” for emerging technologies in communication. The prototype explored how spatial computing, conversational agents, and mixed reality could integrate into a cohesive system—moving beyond incremental enhancements to reimagine how people connect remotely. By incorporating principles of ubiquitous computing, ethical design, and aesthetic experience, the concept pushed the boundaries of what future interaction systems could look and feel like. The final blueprint combined conceptual models, interaction frameworks, and experience prototypes, offering industry judges a tangible vision of next-generation communication.

Always Room for Reflections
This project was a personal highlight because it stretched my understanding of design beyond “building pixels.” It challenged me to think holistically—combining service design, product innovation, and new interaction modalities into a unified vision. I was particularly inspired by Bret Victor’s belief that the future of interaction should engage the whole body, not just a single finger. This perspective encouraged me to avoid simply layering technology onto existing systems and instead design from the ground up for a more human experience.
While the team dynamic was not without challenges, adapting to these circumstances taught me to maximize opportunities even in less-than-ideal conditions. Ultimately, the project reinforced my passion for designing at the intersection of emerging technology and human experience, where bold ideas can shape meaningful futures.

Demoing the Impossible
Unlike typical design projects with readily available prototyping tools, conveying our concept was challenging. To communicate the experience we envisioned, we used a mix of acting, mockups, dioramas, digital renders, and videos to creatively "demo the impossible."
